Copy of Fitting Tips

Sizing a boot correctly is crucial for maintaining comfort and reducing the chances of foot pain or injury. To ensure you receive a boot that fits, we highly recommend measuring your feet as not all footwear fits the same way.

Please note that if you decide to exchange or return a boot due to a sizing issue, additional shipping charges will apply.

To reduce the chance of error, we suggest contacting us by telephone or email to confirm accurate sizing.

Please obtain your measurements by following the advice shown below.

How to Measure

To measure properly, we recommend using a stationary vertical surface such as a wall and a measuring tape or ruler. Remove any socks when measuring. Try to be as accurate as possible with your measurements.

  1. Stand with your heel against the vertical surface.
  2. Measure to the tip of the foot with the measuring device. Be sure to measure both feet. Take a note of the larger number.
  3. Measure both feet at their widest point. Standing on the measuring tape can be helpful.
  4. Use these measurements to find your shoe size on the chart below. For confirmation don't forget you can call us at 250 962 5000.
  5. Add a half size to allow for layering of socks and variations in feet size throughout the day. As an example, while a (male) foot measuring 25.9 cm is a 9 on the sizing scale, you would select a size 9½ boot. When selecting a boot width, you should normally select Medium. In most cases a foot width measuring over 10 cm / 4 inches requires a Wide boot. We recommend contacting us for advice on boot widths.

Helpful Measuring Tips

Keep these tips in mind to help you get the best results from your measurement:

  • Take your measurements at the end of the day, especially if you know your feet tend to swell throughout the day.
  • When measuring, a bare foot will allow for more accuracy.
  • Always measure both feet, since it’s common for one foot to be a bit larger than the other. Use the largest foot to find your shoe size.
  • If you’re having trouble keeping your balance while measuring, do it next to a chair or table that you can hold to steady yourself. Some people also find it easier to have a friend use the tape measure.

Note that some of our boots are available in Narrow and Wide, as well as the standard Medium width. Narrow sizes are 7-8mm narrower than Medium, while Wide sizes are 7-8mm wider. Please contact us if you are unsure which width you should select.

Kenetrek Pac Boots: If you normally wear a half size, we recommend that you order up to the next whole size. You can enhance your fit by adjusting the thickness of your sock combination to provide a snug comfortable fit. Be sure not to make your boots too tight as it will make your feet colder. If you have a narrow foot, try one of our Performance Insoles inside the liner. Women can often wear our pac boots comfortably; just order 1-1½  sizes smaller than your normal shoe size (we also suggest adding a performance insole inside the liner).
